The Mount Vernon Knights Wrestling team is raising money to support the team. They are seeking donations of any amount, which can be made by clicking here to visit the fundraiser website. 

On Friday, Assistant Superintendent for Business Dr. Ed Joseph received a special Career and Technical Education (CTE) experience when CTE Barbering student Bernard Laurent provided him with a professional haircut. The “CTE Super Treatment” highlighted the hands-on learning opportunities available through the District’s CTE programs.

With state testing around the corner, students and staff are gearing up to conquer what’s ahead. Students have been studying hard and diligently to pave the way for their success. The Parent Resource Center at Graham School holds the Positive Parenting Workshop every Wednesday at 10 a.m. The next workshop will be on Wednesday, January 14. Click here to register. Spring season is right around the corner beginning on March 16. Spring Sports includes Baseball, Softball, Outdoor Track for Boys and Girls, Girls Flag Football, Boys Tennis, and Modified Track for boys and girls in grades 7 and 8. Sign up time for Spring Sports is exactly one month before the start of the season. Be ready to sign up on the District website on February 16 to get medically cleared. This week in the Jewel Box, we are honoring our hard working security guards, custodians, lunch monitors, cafeteria workers, social workers and guidance counselors who are the heart of the District. Students visited the Mount Vernon City School District office today for the third meeting of this school year’s Superintendent’s Advisory Council. Elementary and secondary students discussed areas of improvement for their schools and began formulating solutions.
