Our School

THE SCHOOL: The Denzel Washington School of the Arts was founded in 2015. Our principal objective is to prepare students for a professional career in the arts industry and college, emphasizing excellence in the arts and academics. By implementing and adhering to rigorous New York State Common Core and national standards for the Arts, we ensure that the most qualified and talented students are selected for matriculation. We adhere to the adage, “It takes a village” to educate a child.

THE VISION: The Denzel Washington School of the Arts will utilize arts integration to ensure that our students are well-rounded individuals. The students will have exposure to industry professionals and organizations that will develop their curiosity, instill discipline and promote critical thinking in the arts as well as in their academic studies. Our classes will have rigorous instruction, a culturally responsive environment, social- emotional learning, and a safe space for students to thrive and grow. We will establish a culture of high standards and expectations in all aspects of our institution.
